Buck Island, Corolla, NC
Sixteen miles south of Corolla in Kitty Hawk the older houses were built too close to the ocean. The area also has little or no dunes left to to provide sand for nature to create protective sand bars as storms approach. The following pictures, taken along the Kitty Hawk Beach Rd near the Wright Memorial Bridge, show the result.
